About
Julia studied Fine Art at Norwich School of Art and Design, graduating with First Class Honours in 2008. It was during this time that her passion for contemporary jewellery began to take shape. She further refined her technical skills through short courses in Hatton Garden before establishing her independent practice as an art jeweller in 2010. Her award-winning work has been featured in numerous publications and exhibited at leading shows and galleries across the UK.Narrative has always been central to Julia’s practice, but a significant period of ill health prompted a shift in focus—toward emotional and psychological themes. Her recent work explores internal landscapes through mark-making and repetition, transforming the abstract and ephemeral into tangible, wearable forms.Julia’s interdisciplinary approach blends traditional techniques such as piercing and stone setting with experimental processes like 3D pen drawing and electroforming. Asymmetry and hidden details recur throughout her work, inviting curiosity and reflection. Her pieces act as wearable sculptures, quietly advocating the social and emotional power of handmade narrative objects.
