Art Jewellery from transient moments
One-off and limited-edition handmade jewellery which combines artistic experimentation with traditional craftsmanship to produce unique pieces embuded with meaningful narrative and playful execution.

Current Work
Bridging the boundary between traditional jewellery and fine art — between jewellery and small artworks— made to be worn, held, or displayed — and act as quiet anchors for mindfulness, inviting pause and reflection.

01
Drawing Breath
Drawing Breath began as a method of grounding during moments of anxiety, tracing the shape, colour, and texture of each inhale and exhale on paper. This process developed into drawing in the air with a 3D pen, capturing the fleeting imprint of breath while recording its qualities through voice notes. The resulting works are cast breath specimens—each one unique and authentic to the moment in which it was formed.
02
Meditation Sketchbook
A brooch exploring the concept of a wearable sketchbook and mindfulness aid. It contains a reel of tracing paper marked with three-minute meditations, created through drawing as a form of reflection. When not worn, the work can be displayed as a small artwork, with the drawn sequence unravelled into a scroll, shifting between jewellery, object, and recorded process.

03
Grief Ninjas
After a period of significant loss, I often experienced grief late at night, with a stealth-like, ambushing quality that led me to coin the term "Grief Ninjas." This experience informed a collection of mourning jewellery that reflects on contemporary expressions of loss while drawing on the material language and symbolism of Victorian mourning jewellery. Each piece integrates personal narrative through material choice, form, and surface.
Inspiration
I translate breath, emotion, and the unseen inner landscape into wearable artworks. Each piece is a quiet reminder to pause, breathe, reflect.

About Julia
Work
Julia creates one-off and limited-edition wearable drawings that translate breath, emotion and inner landscapes into physical form. Rooted in lived experience, each piece begins as a drawn gesture, capturing the rhythm and energy of a moment before being transformed into a tactile, wearable object.
Her work spans brooches, earrings, pendants and rings—tiny wearable artworks that act as anchors to the present.. Beyond jewellery and art, she hopes her work fosters connection, encourages open conversations around wellbeing and has a positive social impact.
Materials
Julia works with recycled silver, combining it with a carefully considered mix of materials to create contrast, texture, and depth. Semi-precious stones, textiles, and wood sit alongside antique millinery, glass, and vintage finds - each chosen as a translation or interpretation of accents of the breath, and to add visual appeal and historical context to her mourning jewellery. Additional details recording phrases, dates and times are added through cold enamel, etching, and Julia’s tiny handwriting. The combination of materials results in tactile, intimate objects that hold both visual and emotional resonance.
Process
With a background in Fine Art, Julia’s interdisciplinary approach to jewellery incorporates a diverse range of techniques. She works with traditional bench skills such as piercing, casting, and setting, alongside more experimental methods including 3-D pen drawing, electroforming, cold enamel, and embroidery. Cold connections are of particular interest, as they provide the potential to incorporate different materials into her work, complementing her conceptual and intuitive way of working. Every piece is made and finished by hand.
